A home we designed for a builder and his wife here in Dunedin. Built from concrete block and cedar weatherboards, the home sits well in its tree-lined surroundings.
It's often hard to get a monopitch roof to sit well, particularly when the slope opposes the ground. In this home, we have softened the impact by using large decks, large overhangs, and other building forms. A successful compromise results because the low cost monopitch roof does not look out of scale with the rest of the home as so often happens with poorly designed buildings.
