The clients for this alteration wanted to open up their existing house to the back garden.
It was important that the new addition be in the same style of the exisitng, including brick detailing, timber windows, bay window, and shingle gable end.
We designed a flat-roof link which serves to identify the back door of the house, and connect the old and new buildings. By using the linking element , we were able to add a skylight into the north facing roof, allowing sun into an otherwise shaded room.
